Over the rolling hills where the vines grow,
so does our love.
Our land has a very ancient story to tell.

The Etruscans chose the hills of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines to settle down, establish cities and build acropolis. With their profound agronomic expertise and by gazing at the stars, it was here that they planted the first grape vines. The Romans were the next to arrive and took over the reins from their predecessors.
​
In the Middle Ages, the land was owned by the Counts of Panico, an extremely powerful and belligerent family who continued with the wine growing tradition within their much feared fiefs. Ancient documents abound with proof of this pledge to winemaking, so much so that the grounds of the Folesano estate are clearly marked on 16th Century geographical Renaissance maps in the Vatican Museums. Steeped in history, the Folesano vineyards are injected with a new lease of life so as to preserve ancient traditional flavours. It is here, within this unique and magical setting that which retains the aura of its glorious past, that the Folesano Estate can be found.

Gli Etruschi scelsero le colline dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano per insediarsi, fondare città e costruire acropoli. Con la loro profonda competenza agronomica e osservando le stelle, fu qui che piantarono le prime viti. I Romani furono i successivi ad arrivare e presero il testimone dai loro predecessori.

Nel Medioevo, la terra era di proprietà dei Conti di Panico, una famiglia estremamente potente e bellicosa che perpetuò la tradizione vitivinicola all'interno dei loro temutissimi feudi. Antichi documenti abbondano di prove di questa dedizione alla viticoltura, tanto che i terreni della tenuta Folesano sono chiaramente indicati sulle mappe geografiche rinascimentali del XVI secolo conservate nei Musei Vaticani. Immersi nella storia, i vigneti di Folesano vengono infusi di nuova linfa vitale per preservare gli antichi sapori della tradizione. È qui, in questo ambiente unico e magico che conserva ancora l'aura del suo glorioso passato, che si trova la Tenuta Folesano.

Our 13th century medieval house overlooks the Monte Sole Nature Park in the heart of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, 20km from Bologna and 80km from Florence.

Surrounded by the Estate’s vineyards and modern wine cellar, the Agritourism allows its guests to experience first-hand the fascinating world of wine and enjoy a tasting session of our organically certified DOP Colli Bolognesi wines.
La nostra dimora medievale del XIII secolo si affaccia sul Parco Naturale di Monte Sole, nel cuore dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano, a 20 km da Bologna e 80 km da Firenze.

Circondato dai vigneti della tenuta e dalla moderna cantina, l'Agriturismo permette ai suoi ospiti di vivere in prima persona l'affascinante mondo del vino e di partecipare a una degustazione dei nostri vini DOP Colli Bolognesi, certificati biologici.
